Regal commission
Renaissance noble
A sober garment, a plain ruff, and an olive ground.
The dog is set as a sitter in a northern court portrait. A plain ruff, a dark garment, and an olive ground. Formal, without costume comedy.
The manner suits a long-headed dog particularly, though any sitter may be commissioned this way.
