Whippet portraits
A long head and a narrow chest sit naturally in a court portrait.

The whippet’s outline is already close to the sitters in northern portraits. The Renaissance manner uses that, with a plain ruff and an olive ground.
A photograph against a plain wall, with the neck extended rather than tucked, gives the model a clear profile. Pop art is an alternative when the collector wants flat colour instead of oil.
