A narrow head and a marked coat. The markings need to survive the manner.
Black and white markings are the likeness. A manner that muddies them — a heavy tint, a dark ground the same value as the ears — loses the dog.
Send a photograph in which the blaze, if there is one, is visible. Line art keeps the markings as drawing. Oil keeps them as tone. Say which you want when you commission.
